The Bell Method of Testing

What is Muscle Testing and how does it work?

Without electricity you wouldn't be reading this right now. And it's not because your computer wouldn't work. It's because your brain wouldn't work. Everything we do is controlled and enabled by electrical signals running through our bodies. As we learned in intro physics, everything is made up of atoms, and atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons have a neutral charge, and electrons have a negative charge. Note that the atoms themselves can carry (a positive or a negative charge. How? By gaining or losing electrons. The flow of electrons between atoms is what we call electricity. Since our bodies are huge masses of atoms, we can generate electricity.

When we talk about the nervous system sending "signals" to the brain, or synapses "firing," or the brain telling our hands to contract around a door handle, what we're talking about is electricity carrying messages between point A and point B. It's sort of like the digital cable signal carrying 1s and 0s that deliver "Law & Order” episodes. Except in our bodies, electrons aren't flowing along a wire; instead, an electrical charge is jumping from one to another until it reaches its final destination.

The electrical current that flows through our cells acts as a conductor. Which iswhy it responds to other electricty. Just touch an electric fence. By using a large muscle groupe like pushing on an arm we can determine how much electricy is flowing or not flowing through an organ or gland. In our case, we are using our finger by taping on your shoulder. It utilizes the electric fence theory. When someones touces the fence they receive a shock, however if they touch someone else the current flows through them and the other person now recieves the shock. By touching certain accupresure points we can gain access to those meridian/ electrical channels. When there is a positive, strong current the finger stays strong when there is a low/ imbalance in the current the finger will go weak and fall. This is called Muscle Testing.

EYE & TONGUE READING

Eyes have long been referred to as the “Windows of the Soul.” But few people are aware of just how true this observation is. Accurate analysis of iris and sclera structures and pigmentation provides information about clients that is hard to find through other methods. Iridology is becoming a widely practiced assessment tool in both the physical and psychological health fields. There are a multitude of factors that influence our health and personality, and many of these factors are reflected in the sclera and iris. Look closely at your eyes in a mirror, and then at the irises of those around you. You will see many different patterns of iris fibres and colours. Like fingerprints or faces, no two are exactly alike, and neither are we! The iris structure is so unique; it is now being used for security identification.

Iridology is based on the scientific study of the eye — the white and coloured part of the eye. Like markings on a map, the eye reveals physiological conditions, psychological health risks, challenges and/or strengths of various organs and personality traits. Through Iridology, we can get an understanding of present, and potential future health conditions by assessing the various body systems. Your inherited tendencies compounded by toxic accumulations in various parts of your body are also revealed.

The Science of Iridology is based on the analogy of one of the most complicated tissue structures of the whole body – the eye. It is a method whereby the health practitioner can tell, from markings or signs in the eye, the reflex condition of various organs and systems of the body. These markings represent a detailed picture of the integrity of the body; its constitutional potentials, areas of congestion or toxic accumulations and inherent challenges and gifts.

We do not rely exclusively on iridology but also employ other forms of Body Reading including but not limited to tongue, teeth, ears, hands and structures of the face. Not unlike iridology different areas of the body are read like a road map revealing physiological conditions, psychological health risks, challenges and/or strengths of various organs and glands. All of these methods employed together help focus and narrow down the practitioners direction of treatment.

Muscle Therapy

Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is a manual therapy that uses the gentle muscle contractions of the patient to relax and lengthen muscles and normalize joint motion.

To define it specifically, it is “a direct manipulative procedure that uses a voluntary contraction of the patient’s muscles against a distinctly controlled counter-force from a precise position and in a specific direction”. It is considered an active technique, as opposed to a passive technique where only the massage therapist does the work.

MET is based on the principle of reciprocal inhibition, a theory that explains that muscles on one side of a joint will always relax to accommodate the contraction of muscles on the other side of that joint when indirect pressure is applied. MET is often applied to patients who suffer from muscle spasms. The process of lengthening shortened or spastic muscles, to improve weakened ligament and muscle strength, will directly improve range of motion. This procedure is performed when a patient is asked to contract a muscle for approximately 5-10 seconds against the resistant force applied by the therapist. The muscle contraction is performed by the client 3 to 5 times in a row in the hopes to stretch the muscle further each time.

Muscle Energy Technique is derived from the theory that if a joint is not used to its full range of motion, its function will lessen and it will be at risk of suffering strains and injuries. This form of muscular therapy makes use of a patient’s own muscle energy (the force); while the therapist presents a stationary surface (resistance) the patient will contract their muscle against in order to stretch the muscle and joint to its full potential.

Muscle energy techniques can be applied safely to almost any joint in the body. Many athletes use MET as a preventative measure to guard against future muscle and joint injury. It is mainly used by individuals who have a limited range of motion due to facet joint dysfunction in the neck and back, and for broader areas such as; shoulder pain, scoliosis, sciatica, unsymmetrical legs, hips or arms (for example when one is longer or higher then the other), or to treat chronic muscle pain, stiffness or injury.

Emotional Therapy

Identified as one of the five ways someone can become ill, if a person is unable to resolve an emotional state the emotion may become “trapped” residing within a specific area of the body effecting a persons health.  The process of ERT identifies where the emotion resides allowing the practitioner to remove it using acupressure.  Once removed that area of the body can begin to return to a normal state of

function.

Nutritional Herbs and Supplements

There are two main categories of herbs, actual medicinal or medical type herbs used in medicine and nutritional food based herbs; essentially concentrated forms of food.  As experienced herbalists we are trained in the employment of both but often find that nutritional food based herbs do most of the work we need done.  Rarely do we give “raw” herbs, typically our herbs are blends of two or more components that change the effect of the main herbal ingredient making it more effective and absorbable into the human body.

It is truly amazing how we as a species have survived and thrived on this planet for more than 100,000 years without the aid of the pharmaceutical industry or modern medical techniques, how was it done?  It was the foods we ate and natural herbal remedies that we employed that played a huge role in the survival and proliferation of our species.
